We needed a halfway point to meet relatives and chose Whitehouses as the venue. We were there for the Sunday Carvery (which we don’t usually enjoy anywhere else). The service from the staff was attentive and very friendly. The food was fresh, hot, well cooked and pleasantly served by the chef. My wife is vegetarian and the young man serving us said that he would order the veggie option from the kitchen and advised the rest of the party to wait 10 minutes before collecting our food as the veggie dish is cooked to order and this would ensure that we all had our food at the same time. So all in all, perfect food, perfect venue, perfect staff and perfect company. Thank you Whitehouses.
Food was really good, the waitress serving our group (13 of us) was excellent, she was very polite, had a pleasant demeanour and nothing was too much trouble, in fact she was probably the best waitress I have experienced in a long time.
Called to book a table of ten, hats off to them for accommodating us, Sunday carvery was faultless, head chef a really nice guy too. We will definitely return.
Under new management the Whitehouse Retford serves an A rating for Sunday Dinner. gammon , beef, and lamb on the carvery on the day. Full vegetables, leek cabbage amazing great English dinner with great service and an amazing atmosphere. Just go take the family you'll be stuffed.
Lovely lunch, reasonable price and looked after very well by the staff. We are booked in for mother's day. Also very interested in the BOGOF nights.
